By privileging projects with architectural and environmental quality, artau emphasises the roots of a local architecture by respecting at the same time constructed and natural heritage.

Brief description of artau:
artau's fields of activities are the following:

Health care (hospital, convalescent home with/without medical care, paramedical,... Grouped housing / habitats, urban spaces, renovations.

The projects of artau are spread over the entire region of Wallonia, Brussels and the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg.

1984 : Foundation of artau

1991 : Inauguration of the social headquarters of Cacharel in Brussels, project carried out in collaboration with the architect Wilmotte, Paris.

First prize in the CWAJ contest for the transformation of the youth hostel of Bévercé (178 beds) in Malmedy.

1992 : The entire urban renovation project in Stavelot which is located on the listed site of the Saint-Remacle square is awarded the European Prize for Reconstruction of the Town.

1995 : First prize in the cross-border contest called « A.T.E.A.R. » for the renovation and rehabilitation of the Plantain castle in Limont.

Prize winner of the European Contest for the Reorganisation of the Crachet site in Frameries (project of 12.000.000 €).

1996 : First prize in the cross-border contest called « A.T.E.A.R. » for the project of the elementary school in St. Vith (project of 3.000.000 €).

1997 : Prize winner in the European Contest for the renovation and rehabilitation of 1000 social housing units in Droixhe (project of 50.000.000 €).

2000 : Partnership with the research agency Archiconcept in Abidjan on the Ivory Coast.

2003 : artau is one of the first architecture agencies to be certified as ISO 9001 and Coqual.

2005 : artau wins the Award for non-residential buildings of the year within the framework of the prize called "Belgian Building Awards" for the transformation of the St Benoît - St Servais School in Liège. This project has also been awarded the Urbanism Prize 2006 by the City of Liège.

2007 : artau wins the Award for non-residential buildings of the year within the framework of the prize called "Belgian Building Awards" for the construction of the reception centre for epileptics William Lennox in Ottignies. This project was also rewarded the Urbanism Prize 2007 by Waloon Brabant.

2009 : First Prize for the call for tender of the construction of the new hospital in Liège together with Assar and Hoet & Minne
