Mission
Architecture of context and awareness
With more than 25 years of experience, artau wants to keep the same philosophy and a continuous vision of architecture within the huge variety of projects and the different scales of the projects they carry out.
Our mission is to put forward an innovating architecture each time that maintains a natural balance between the project constituents in their context.
In order to do so, we wish to support a constant dialogue between the construction site, the function and the concept of the project. We try to find a right synthesis between the wishes of the client, the integration into the landscape, the well being of the users, the regional culture in which the project will be integrated while respecting the global line of modern construction work.
We suggest new answers to succeed with these difficult interactions, so that from an architectural and urbanistic point of view the result is an added value to the context in which it is integrated.
To assure that the building contractor is himself/herself the author of the project we work in close collaboration with him/her by making him/her aware of our responsibilities, our esthetical work and our requirements, with adapted tools.
Sustainable development
As artau is always concerned with environmental issues, each project is treated with our experience and research findings in the field of sustainable development.
In order to handle the principles of sustainable development in a realistic way, according to us, each project shall be an innovative response to the function it is supposed to execute and to the dangers linked to it. The architectural and urbanistic part of the project is meant to respect the balance between the three big areas at the basis of sustainable development: the environmental area, the economic area, and the social area.
In order to combine ideally these objectives that can sometimes be contradictory, our methodology adopts a pluridisciplinary approach. Our team is backed-up by different contributors (architects, urbanists, engineers, financial contributors, research departments for energy and sustainable development…).
At each phase of the project, the respect of the different objectives is re-evaluated by these contributors, taking into account the financial feasibility as well as technical and urbanistic requirements.
A thorough study of the design process of the project is thus carried out beforehand in the light of these various points of view, with the objective to guarantee fixed budgets, to reduce global eco-footprints of the works and to make sure the project integrates well into its socio-cultural framework.
